Bushfire Information Night — North Burnett

Landholders in the North Burnett region are invited to attend a Bushfire Information Night to obtain practical advice and guidance and hear from local experts on fire in their landscapes and reducing bushfire risk.

Organised by Healthy Land and Water in collaboration with BMRG and supported by the Queensland Fire & Biodiversity Consortium, through funding from the Australian Government’s Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program.

Discussion will include:

  • Rural Fire Service: Prepare Act Survive training and the new Australian Fire Danger Rating System.

  • Fire ecology, ecological burning, and hazard reduction, from fire ecologists.

  • Agency planned burn programs from Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service and Queensland Rural Fire Service.

Participants will be informed about preparing for the bushfire season with practical steps to minimise risk.
