Andrew Zerner joins BMRG Board

Murgon cattle producer and agricultural consultant, Andrew Zerner (pictured), has joined the board of directors at Burnett Mary Regional Group.

After completing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Rural Management through the University of Queensland, Andrew returned to the family property where he ran a successful dairy farm with his parents.

This was later converted to a beef cattle operation, which Andrew farms today with his wife Katie, where they practise regenerative agriculture by profitably increasing soil carbon with cattle via grazing principles.

Andrew joined the RCS consulting team on a part-time basis in 2015; his specialties include benchmarking, business analysis, business planning, ecology, grazing management, property development and planning.

He is also a volunteer at Red Earth Community Foundation.

Andrew nominated for the BMRG board because he has a passion for sustainable agriculture.

“I’ve learnt that to get positive changes in landscape, we first need the space for people to make change,” he said.

“I love working with people who want to make a difference. It’s important to invest in people, yourself and others, because people make things happen.”
